Pastor Doug's Thought For Today 6/16

Good Morning,

We started a little late because of the mist but got our 3.5 miles in.  Today the construction continues and MDO is in the house.  Ashland will be hopping for sure.  Summer at Ashland is a mixture of changed routine.  The school year impacts us, but by that it only changes what and when we do ministry.  VBS is around the corner, Youth Camp is almost here and the rhythm is changed.  We always say things will slow down with summer, but that isn't true around here.  I am thankful to serve a church that is busy in all seasons.  Have a wonderful day!

Blessings, Doug

Today's Scripture

Psalm 68:4-5 (New International Version)
Sing to God, sing in praise of his name, extol him who rides on the clouds; rejoice before him—his name is the Lord. A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.

Today's Thought

David so powerfully opens his spirit before God.  I talked Sunday about choosing awe of anxiety.  David is demonstrating in these verses how to do that.  Praise changes our attitude and as our attitude changes so does the situation. There are many of aspects of our life we can't control, but we can control our attitude.  A little praise (a little Jesus) goes a long way to changing the day.  Just a thought for today!
