Pastor Doug's Thought For Today 5/19

Good Morning,

What a weekend!  We made it to Columbia to celebrate Pete's 40th birthday on Saturday.  Worship was awesome and we welcomed the 2025 Confirmation Class as well at the Bierman family into membership.  It was back in the Burb and off to Como for Ada's Dance Recital Sunday afternoon.  It felt good to get home Sunday night.  Today we have the Inter Serv Annual Meeting here at Ashland, so the fun continues.  We had about 1/4 inch of rain in the gage this morning.  It would be nice to get some more rain before the day is out, Have a great day!

Blessings, Doug

Today's Scripture

James 3:17-18 (New International Version)
But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.

Today's Thought

I want you to read these verses and take them to heart.  This isn't Sunday morning thought, it is the heart of Christ.  This applies to every facet of our lives.  We should employ this at home and at work.  We should apply this in our city, our state, and our country.  Yes, we should also make this our mantra as a nation.  Why?  Because that is what the Kingdom looks like.  Just a thought for today!
