Pastor Doug's Thought For Today 6/06

Good Morning,

Friday has arrived and the weekend is upon us.  What are your plans for this full weekend in June?  I am processing the business of the UMC with a couple hundred of my colleagues.  We are blessed by a great church.  I am so proud of all that Ashland continues to mean to our denomination.  I hope you connect with us this weekend as we praise God together.   Have a nice weekend!

Blessings, Doug

The 50+ gathering is today, June 6th at 11:00 am in the Fellowship Hall.

Today's Scripture

James 4:13-14    New International Version

13 Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” 14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.

Today's Thought

Plans are important, however James encourages us to live in the moment.  We learned the word "pivot" during the pandemic.  The ability to change direction, to be fluid.  We need to trust in God's plan and live into it.  We need to plan, but to have the latitude to follow where God leads us.  May we always be ready to pivot to God's call.  Just a thought for today!
