The purpose of Ashland's youth ministry follows the purpose of Ashland United Methodist Church - to be and make disciples of Jesus Christ in authentic community for the good of the world. We want to help youth follow Christ.

It is our goal to help youth know they are loved by God and the people of Ashland and develop a finish-line faith of their own that sticks. Ashland Youth Ministry utilizies programming such as Sunday School, Wednesday Night Youth Group, and a variety of Activities that balance fun, fellowship, faith-building, and service to accomplish this goal.

We believe parents are the biggest influence on a teen's faith, and so we encourage parents to travel along in their youth's spiritual journey and be encouraged by other parents traveling along as well.

Sunday School

We have Sunday school classes on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. for Junior High and Senior High students which focus primarily on Biblical learning. They meet

Junior High (7th and 8th Grades) - Loft (3rd Floor)

Junior High Sunday school will go on a two-year journey through an overview of the Bible to arrive at an understanding of God's full story and plan. As they study the Bible from cover to cover, they will discover God's plan for each of them - to follow His path in discipleship.

Senior High (9th-12th Grades) - Room 102

Senior High Sunday School will focus on equipping the youth to share and defend their own faith and prepare them to grow in their next setting in life. They will learn how to study God's Word so they can use it as their guide, and they will be encouraged to realize the importance of staying connected to a faith community.

Youth Group

Youth Group will focus on the practices of faith where youth can learn it, do it, and talk about it - while enjoying time with friends. Youth Group will include fun and fellowship, community building, and character building through games and outings, service projects and clear consistent modeling of the character of Christ.

Youth Group meets during Ashland's G.I.F.T. (Growing in Faith Together) with dinner served at 5:15 pm. Junior High and Senior High youth meet seperately for faith-building, discussion groups, games and social activities, with everyone gathering for worship and fellowship.
